On Monday, the 18th of January 2016 at 12:00 a.m., Dr. Ahmed Salih Ahmed, lecturer at the Department of History, presented a seminar about The Reasons of the Fall of the Ayyubid Caliphate at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Zakho. In order to provide a better overview about the subject , Dr. Ahmed Salih Ahmed firstly described the foundation of the Abbasid Caliphate followed by a respective number of reasons for the fall of this prominent dynasty, one of them the then wide- spread corruption within the caliphate. Finally, constructive debates were conducted between the presenter and the participants, including lecturers and students from the Department of History.
